    Finding Photos

We all know that high quality photos can enhance the written word and draw in readers, but it’s not always easy to find just the right photo.

Free High Quality Photos for Commercial or Personal Use provides resources for locating photos that you are free to use. Take some time to browse the thousands of photos available. Many of these are simply spectacular.

Remember to follow the terms of use of each site and to provide credit to the photographer and the site.

Copyright infringement is a serious issue that can have very serious consequences. Protect yourself by keeping accurate  records of any photos you use.

It’s not a bad idea to take a quick screen shot of the image and the photographers guidelines at the time you download the image. In the event that the photographer (or the site) changes the terms of agreement in the future, you will have a record of the terms when you accessed the photo.

This is rare, but occasionally a well meaning individual will offer a photo under public domain that they do not own the copyright to. When the error is detected, the terms of agreement may be altered or the photo may be removed.

Keeping a screen shot of the terms will protect you should this happen to any of the images you use.
